Remembering

The last two weeks of my semester abroad was a whirlwind of travel and the work load of real life hit hard the moment I got back to San Diego. I've skimmed through the pictures that I took and pulled out the ones that caught my eye, but I haven't objectively judged all the pictures yet. I'm slowing revisiting these pictures as they are a distant memory in my head now and I see more and more pictures that really capture the atmosphere of the places I've traveled to.
This picture was taken on the second to last day of my two weeks in Southeast Asia. After a long day of bus travel out of Siem Reap, Cambodia we arrived at Laem Ngop. This is where the ferries departed to Koh Chang, an island off the south coast of Thailand. We caught the last ferry to the island right as the sun was setting into the horizon.
We stayed in beach side bungalows in Siam Bay. The weather in Thailand in December is like a perfect San Diego summer day with moderate humidity and warm breezes. This photo was taken right outside my door and it captures the calm serenity of the private beach perfectly. This was the perfect place to relax and unwind after two tiring weeks on the road. I believe this is the last photo that came out of my E-PL2 before taking a swim in kayak.
