Miraie house was one of our AirBnB rentals in Tokyo. The owners and host of the house is a family that enjoys having international travelers in their lives. The owners worked with an architect to build a house around their lifestyle. The exposed structure with plywood, solid sawn, and glulam timber in its raw state gives the space warmth and a sense of solid stability. We spent a lot of time in Tokyo just wandering in residential neighborhoods and there is a dizzying number of radical custom homes. I recently listened to a fascinating podcast that explains why. Its worth a listen.
