Engineering Intuition

by

The professor for my structural analysis class is hands down the best professor that I've had at UCSD. He teaches what he calls engineering intuition. Instead of teaching out of the book, which he wrote, he steps back and solves problems intuitively with as little math as possible. He explains everything in plain English and teaches a way of thinking instead of steps to solve a particular problem. After today's lecture I was genuinely looking forward to applying his method of drawing influence lines for trusses. I think a professor has really outdone themselves when students look forward to doing their homework. This is a first for me.
